BrooklynONEtheater, inc. - Executive Director Tom Kane and Artistic Director Anthony Marino founded BrooklynONEtheater, inc. in 2006. It was founded as a haven for emerging artists to hone their craft in a theatrical setting. Based in the heart of Bay Ridge Brooklyn, the company provides innovative, experimental and creative theatrical works. Focusing on the importance of new and original works, BrooklynONEtheater sets itself apart from other local theatre groups. By providing a black box style setting at their space in St. Johns Parish Hall, BrooklynONEtheater offers the unique experience of providing its audience a first hand look at works in development for larger runs. It also allows local talent to flourish in a safe yet professional environment. BrooklynONEtheater has in its short tenure, produced works from playwrights 10 – 70 years old, and from all across the world. BrooklynONEtheater maintains a strong relationship with the arts in its community with a focus on continuing to expand and grow outward as it creates opportunities for artists in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
BrooklynONEtheater is a not for profit organization.

The Vince Mazza One-Act Festival is an playwright/one-act festival named in memory of longtime Brooklyn actor/singer and, of course, playwright Vince Mazza, whose untimely death in 2006 was a shock to all of Brooklyn and beyond. Mazza was a posthumous winner in the group’s inaugural festival, which took place just two months after his loss. Annually BrooklynONE produces seven plays, from submissions all across the globe, with one by Mazza, and presented over a 2 week period in the fall.
A Playwright Grows in Brooklyn: Youth One Act Festival allows the youth community to submit original short plays, monologues and poems. Through mentoring the submissions are reworked, cast, rehearsed and presented in a repertory style using a cast of youth actors.
Hooray Renée: A Celebration of Life is a yearly fundraiser hosted by BrooklynONEtheater in order to raise money for local charitable causes.
BrooklynONEtheater: OutReach is being created as a program for special needs children that will let them express themselves through performance.
